What is the root cause of dental caries?
Could be almost nonexistent dental problems if humans just eat organic meat? No germs that cause plaque was just eating sugar? Not the sugar that is the root of all dental disease? So fruits have sugar, vegetables have sugar, and so does bread and Sweets and pasta But the only thing that does not have a high sugar content is the meat. So if we were to really avoid sugar completely and just stick to meat, are not going to be less likely to develop dental disease?
Click OK I'll take a stab at it. 1. Yes, and I mean IF, you can delete any fermentable sugars or foods that fall into these sugars diet, yet I have to believe decay would be a problem. 2. Since it is probably impossible to completely eliminate sugar from the diet, this is more a question theoretical 3. In theory, I believe the bacteria could mutate and begin to use alternative sources of energy. 4. You could try removing or vaccinate against bacteria and, In fact, studies moving in this direction. The problem seems to be that the bacteria that cause dental caries are so easily as other mutant bacteria. Herewith is the possible resistance to the agent for disposal. 5. Decay is easily prevented NOW. Brush and floss! Kill bacteria with good oral hygiene and no caries. I have very few patients, too late in life, who have never had any cavities. 6. Since some sugar consumption is necessary in all diets, the addition of the problems systemic health related to consumption of sugar is not far outweigh the benefits. Dr. Dan
