If you want something like a chocolate covered caramel then melt the chocolate (milk or dark) and unwrapped caramel dip in chocolate, shaking off excess and place the candy covered in a sheet of waxed paper. You can also do this with any number of other items such as nuts or marshmallows. Do not use ice cream filling will not work as you want.
