The gelatin is added in some sweets like Gummy bears and marshmallows which is made from animal bones that could restrict vegetarians to eat them, example, kosher gelatin made of fishbone. Some candy may contain pectin, agar gum arabic, agar is a substitute for gelatin, but the final quality of products may vary from the original use of gelatine. Other products in common use non-vegetarian is carmine, which may consist of wings and other body parts of some insects.
Sweets can be edible for a period of two weeks to about a year. The edibility of candy and sweets can be increased if stored in dry and cool.
